Candidate Interviewing Tips

  1. DUE DILIGENCE
    Do your home work!  There is plenty of information readily available about potential employers, especially on the internet.  Don't be caught off guard when you are asked, "What do you know about our company?"

  2. BUSINESS ATTIRE
    Use prudent judgement when dressing for an interview.  You can't go wrong with proper business attire.

  3. BE PUNCTUAL
    Plan to arrive at the interview site 5 to 10 minutes early.

  4. ENTHUSIASM
    Don't underestimate the importance of enthusiasm during the interview. Demonstrate a genuine and sincere interest in the position.  You don't get a second chance to make that first impression.

  5. EYE CONTACT
    Enough said!

  6. ASK QUESTIONS
    The interview should be a "two way street."  Don't be hesitant to ask questions about the company and the job opportunity.  But also know when to listen.

  7. ACHIEVEMENTS
    Be prepared to talk about past achievements and accomplishments.  And more important, how these achievements relate to the potential job opportunity.

  8. CLOSING
    Make sure your potential employer knows your interest level in the job.  If the interview is going well and you are comfortable about the opportunity feel free to "ask for the job."
